John is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Marilyn Schlicht; step-children, Gordon Stowell, Donna Wilmot, Michelle (Troy) Stevens, and Evangolas “Van” (Amber) Voutsinas, Jr.; 15 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
John retired from USPS after 46 years of service. He was a proud US Army veteran who served in Vietnam. He enjoyed spending time with his family and taking care of the neighborhood stray cats. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend who will be dearly missed by all who loved him.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 from 10 am to 10:20 am with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Pompei Church, 301 Ash Street, Syracuse, NY 13208. Immediately following, John will be laid to rest in the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CNY Cat Coalition, 3865 NY-31, Liverpool, NY 13090.
