1928 - 2021
Ellen “Ellie” Henehan, formerly of Canastota, NY and most recently of North Syracuse, passed away peacefully at Loretto in Syracuse on July 31, 2021. Born on July 1, 1928 in Lafayette, NY, she graduated from Tully High School in 1946. Ellen lived in Ithaca and Rochester before settling in Canastota in 1965. She went back to school and graduated from Powelson Business Institute in 1972. She went to work for Catholic Charities Toomey Residential Services after graduation and retired from there in 1993. She enjoyed painting, quilling and playing Scrabble with her daughter, Barbara.
Ellen was predeceased by her parents, Nellie and Nelson Stevens; sisters, Patricia Laman and Satira Metcalf and her son, James Moore.
She is survived by her daughters, Pamela Moore-Smith of North Carolina and Barbara Henehan-Conley of Watertown, NY; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday August 4th 4-7 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals in North Syracuse.
