Samuel R. Reakes Jr., 68, passed away October 1st, 2021 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, NY after a four month battle with Covid 19.

Sam was born September 30, 1953 in Syracuse, NY. He started out working in his teens as an auto mechanic which helped to benefit his passion for stock car racing, along with what he learned from his father, Screaming Sammy Reakes Sr. Later in his life, he had worked for a few Fortune 500 companies and then opened his own auto parts store in Hastings, NY. After many years, he decided to close the store and work for a local auto auction company home based out of Dallas, TX.

Sam was a great guy who would do anything for anyone. He loved racing, music, his cat, Pook and sharing camp with his fiancé at Brennan’s Beach.

He was predeceased by his parents, Samuel Sr. and Zelda, his brother, Eddie and sister, Judy.

Sam has an extended family and friends that he loved and cared about, especially, Jan Bridenbaugh, his fiancé and soulmate.

Friends and relatives may call on Friday, October 15th from 4-7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse, NY 13212.
