Kyle P. McAuliffe of Syracuse, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 16, 2022.

He was born on February 4, 1996 in Baltimore, MD and attended Skaneateles High School, the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and the Finger Lakes School of Massage. He was excited to begin Nursing School at OCC this fall where he planned to “be the change” needed to heal the broken aspects of our healthcare system.

Kyle was a lover of life who sought truth and justice, especially on behalf of the disenfranchised and those without a voice. He loved nature and animals, music, art, antique watches, history and literature. He was a poet and a philosopher who enjoyed engaging in discourse about all manner of things; a gentle soul who connected with others easily; a natural and gifted healer.

He is survived by his parents, Christopher and Carolyn of Skaneateles, NY; his brother, Garrett of Springfield, TN; and the love of his life, Maria Winkworth of Syracuse. Other relatives include grandparents, Jerry and Maryjane McAuliffe of Marietta, NY; and many, many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, July 29 from 5-9 at the Creek Hollow Pavilion, at the Marcellus Park, located at 2443 Platt Road, Marcellus, NY to honor his abbreviated but full and beautiful life!

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the OCC Foundation to establish The Kyle P. McAuliffe Award for Nursing. The family is establishing this award to help future students achieve their dreams and reach their educational goals in the field of nursing, just as Kyle had dreamed of doing. Please donate your memorial gift online by visiting www.sunyocc.edu/give or mail and make checks payable to The OCC Foundation, Inc., 4585 West Seneca Turnpike, Syracuse, NY, 13215. As an alternative, you can consider a donation to the Epilepsy Foundation: https://www.epilepsy.com/make-difference/ways-give.
