Jason A. “Jay” Mautz, 49, of North Syracuse, passed away unexpectedly. Born to Christine Barnes and Gerald Mautz. He graduated from Cicero-North Syracuse High School in 1991 and went onto graduate from Onondaga Community College with an Associate’s Degree. Jay loved cars, fishing, kayaking and basketball. He was a very detail oriented, creative artist. Family always came first.

Jay was predeceased by his father, Gerald Mautz in 2013.

He leaves behind his mother, Christine Barnes; sister, Tammy Palladino; nieces, Kylee Rancier, Sydney Palladino, Daphne Palladino, Lilyana Palladino; nephew, Edik Palladino and aunts, uncles and cousins.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, June 27th 4-7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 28th 11am at the funeral home with burial to follow in North Syracuse Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
