Mamie Ruth Duncan, 78 of Syracuse, NY and formerly of Brooklyn, NY, passed away on August 9th, 2022 with her loving family by her side. Born on July 28th, 1944 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Cloudis and Alley Spencer.

She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and helped anyone who came across her path. She also loved sewing, upholstering and watching the Judge Judy and Judge Mathis shows. She was a very proud and strong woman.

She is survived by her children, William (Heather) Duncan Jr., Vanessa Duncan, Lutricia Duncan, Anthony (Shaunette) Duncan and Gerard (Angela) Duncan; grandchildren, Heamean, Tyrilavone, Latisha, Kenneth, Tyrell, Little Gerard, Beanna, Quanaisha, Quadeer, Avonte, Izaya, Jaciere, Debo, Mamas and Alicia; 22 great-grandchildren; sister, Julia Watson; brothers, Van Spencer and Pop Spencer; sister-in-law, Dorothy L. Duncan; brother-in-law, Jerome J. Duncan and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her husband, William Clay Duncan Sr.; daughter, Jovette Duncan; sister, Lillian Spencer and her brother, Ilesha Spencer.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals on Wednesday, August 17th, 2022 from 4-7pm. Funeral services will follow at 7pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society.
