Edward was born in Watertown, New York on April 22, 1941 to the late Jason and Kathleen Gilchrist.
A Vietnam Army Veteran, Edward retired from Carrier Corporation in 2005 with over 30 years of service. Before Carrier, Ed worked for Onondaga County for 10 years. Ed was kind to everyone. In his free time, he enjoyed watching and playing sports. In his earlier years, he was a talented gymnast. Most recently, he was an avid reader and bowler.
He is survived by his Sons, Arthur (Dawn) Gilchrist and Michael Gilchrist; Two Daughters, Rhonda (Phillip) Farrington and Kaitlyn Gilchrist; Two Brothers, John Gilchrist, Harold Gilchrist; Sister, Pearl Dyer; Half Sister, Gladys Gilchrist; Half Brother, Kenneth Gilchrist; As well as 14 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren.
He lost his four Sons, Edward Gilchrist, Jr, David Gilchrist, Jack Gilchrist and Zaak Gilchrist.
Visitation will take place Saturday, October 8, 2022 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, North Syracuse from 1-4 PM. A service will follow at 4 PM.
