Helen Bliss Falge
1929 - 2022

Helen Bliss Falge, 93, passed away peacefully September 16, 2022, surrounded by the love of her niece and caretaker, Denise Bliss, and great-nieces Kimberly Rendino, Sandra Graham and their families.

Helen was predeceased by her parents, Lula and William Bliss Sr.; siblings, William, Jr. (Mabel), Wilma (Walter) Burian, Harold Bliss and half brother, Frederick Bliss; nephews William III and Ronald Bliss and great-niece Kathleen Younginer.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-greats.

This strong, feisty force of nature grew up in Syracuse and spent most of her adult life in North Syracuse and Baldwinsville. Helen retired from Carrier Corporation where she maintained lifelong friendships with many co-workers. She also continued friendships with her Blodgett Vocational High School classmates, “The VO Girls” – amazing ladies who continued luncheon gatherings for over 70 years! She made friends easily and kept them, as demonstrated by the cards and letters that supported her through these final months.

Helen traveled the world, enjoying Europe, Japan, Alaska and Hawaii among others. She was a sports enthusiast, bowling and playing golf, attending several Masters Tournaments and cheering on SU football and basketball. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends, spending time with her cats, games at Morgan Square, and spending time with her dear friends and family.

Family would like to express sincere appreciation to the aides, nurses and staff at The Cottages #31 for their compassionate and loving care and support over the past six months.

Private services will be held followed by entombment in Woodlawn Mausoleum. Please leave condolences at www.newcomersyracuse.com In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Humane Association of CNY, 4915 Taft Road, Liverpool, NY 13088 or a charity of your choice.
