I'm shocked and saddened to hear of Mary Lou's passing. I met Mary Lou way back in the late 80s when we became Monkee penpals. We wrote constantly and I finally got to meet her at a Monkees concert in Syracuse. A few weeks after that we traveled to Utica for another concert. We found out where the guys were staying and walked over there and into the bar. There was Micky sitting at a table watching Monday Night Football and damn if she didn't just push through the crowd until she got next to him! A few years later we traveled to see Peter in Greenwich Village and oh we had such a great time!
I didn't see her again for another 20 years when she and Walt drove to my house.
I love you Mary Lou! Thank you so much for everything we shared together!

Its kinda sad there no mention of don richardson in her obituary, He was in old time radio he told me they talked on the phone ever day for 30 years He said they went to concerts together at syracuse smyphony.
He tried to get information on her condition and not mention him in the obituary shows she did not value friendships. i must say its mighty sad.

Our deepest condolences to family and friends of Mary. Though we hadn't been in contact with her for many recent years we have many special memories of her. She used to come into our store in Shoppingtown Mall (Cavages Records & Tapes) and give us updates on The Monkees and we fondly referred to her as "Monkee Lady" due to her love of the band. She would sometimes come in with Walt and even brought us a personalized, autographed photo of Mel Blanc. She was always great to talk with, very knowledgeable in classic tv shows, cartoons, music and everything that we liked and grew up to. We always looked forward to her popping in to see us. When our store closed we lost touch but we would always mention her when reminiscing about our days in the mall. We're glad that we got to know her.

I knew Mary Lou in Junior High and High School. I remember her love of old TV shows and Paul Lynn. I remember watching Hollywood Squares with her at school breaks. After graduation I moved out of the area for a while and when I got back I was working at the Howard Johnson's on Carrier Circle. Mary Lou and Walt would come in for ice cream when he came into town to see her. They both enjoyed the same things and telling us about their travels. I remember she was so excited when she got to meet Mel Blanc and so was Walt. They were so happy when they were going to California to meet with Mel , Mel's wife and son. They definitely both always had stories of their Adventures. We were also Facebook friends for a very long time. Condolences to the family and to Walt her BFF.
