Dorothy E. Algiere, 95, of Parish, passed away on March 18, 2023.
Dorothy was born in Allentown, Virginia on October 31, 1927 to the late Thomas and Elizabeth McVey.
A strong person, of great faith and perseverance, who was known for her tutoring of special needs children.
She was a great lover of music and the arts. Dottie also taught piano and vocals, art and dance. Dottie was a mom to everyone. She was also known to help anyone in need. Tiny in stature but huge at heart. A true Christian warrior.
She was preceded in death by her first Husband, Carl F. Brooner; second Husband, Jimmie W. Algiere and Son, Thomas W. Brooner.
She is survived by her Niece, Ruth Catherine Berryhill Smith; Children and Grandchildren, Carla Brooner, Jennifer Brooner-Hunter, Charissa Algiere, and Jana Ferguson; as well as several Great, and Great-Great Grandchildren.
A graveside service and burial will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at 11:00am, at Hastings Cemetery, 1750 US-11, Hastings, New York 13076.
A Celebration of Life will be held immediately following at Lloyd's Place, 2650 US Route 11, Parish, New York 13131. Everyone is welcome.
