Alfred Earl Reedy, Sr., was born on March 23, 1963, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and unexpectedly passed away at his home in Syracuse, New York, on June 26, 2026. Though his journey came to a close all too soon, the chapters of his life tell a story of quiet resilience, deep love, and lasting influence that leaves an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
From the heart of Alabama to the community of Syracuse, Earl's life was one of movement, growth, perfect attendance at work, and unwavering dedication to his family.
He is survived by his wife Julie Reedy, four daughters, AnnaMarie Reedy, Dotty Reedy, Tasha Stout Reedy, Nicole (Edward) Harrell; grandchild, Malachi Harrell, along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Willie "Newt" Reedy and Alice "MaDear" Reedy; two Sons, Alfred Earl Reedy Jr. II, Alfred "Earl" Reedy Jr. III; 3 brothers, Willie "Baybro" Reedy Jr., James Henry Reedy, Otis Reedy; 4 sisters, Annie B Reedy, Bernice Stewart, Genetta Reedy, Beatrice "Deida" Brown.
Though his family circle has been touched by such loss, those remaining hold close the memories and lessons Earl passed down. His story is woven together with threads of steadfastness and hope, living on in the lives of those who remember and honor him still.
To know Earl was to know that he was always smiling, loved to laugh and tell jokes, and dance ; he was a presence that brought comfort, wisdom, and support to those around him. His journey, both through the joys and challenges of life, touched many and left behind a legacy shaped as much by endurance as by love.
Family, friends, and all whose paths crossed with Earl's are invited to celebrate his life and share in the collective remembrance of his spirit on July 9, 2026. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N Main St, Syracuse, NY 13212. The funeral service will follow at the same location from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Then proceed to Onondaga Valley Cemetery located at 2500 Valley Dr. Nedrow, NY 13120 For those that are attending the services, the family requests that you wear tan or beige colored clothing in memory of Earl.
As we mourn Earl’s passing and the sorrows he overcame, we also celebrate the gift of his presence and the enduring example of his life. May his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration in the days ahead.
