Alfred Charles Roy “Alfie,” “Alfonso,” “Al”
Beloved Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, and Friend
February 21, 1964 – September 11,2025
Alfred Charles Roy, known affectionately as Alfie, Alfonso, or simply Al, passed away peacefully in Syracuse, NY, on September 11,2025, surrounded by the family he loved fiercely and protected without question.
Born on February 21, 1964, to Catherine and Edward Roy, Al was a man of quiet strength, fierce loyalty, and unshakable humor. He married his childhood sweetheart, Sheila Schiebler, on August 2, 1986—a love story rooted in devotion and friendship. Together, they built a life full of laughter, music, and unforgettable memories.
Al was a man of many passions: cooking big meals for his family, cheering on his favorite hockey teams, attending concerts, and listening to the music that moved his soul. A skilled electrician and natural builder, Al believed in showing up, working hard, and being there when it counted most. He lived with open arms and an open heart.
He is survived by his wife Sheila; his daughter Amber; his siblings Kathleen, Marilyn, Nancy, and Edward; and many nieces and nephews who loved him like a second father. He is preceded in death by his parents, Catherine and Edward Roy.
Al’s legacy is one of unwavering presence—he showed up, every time, without hesitation. In every shared joke, every meal made with love, every concert lyric belted out loud, his spirit lives on.
