Alice M. Cowles

Alice M. (House) Cowles, 84 of Mattydale, NY passed away peacefully on January 17, 2026. She was born on August 28, 1941. She was the daughter of Bruce and Violet House of Mallory, NY where she and her brother, Donald grew up on their dairy farm.

 She graduated from Beauty School in Rochester after high school and had her own beauty shop in Mallory where she did hair for many clients. She married the love of her life, Roger Cowles on October 26, 1968.

 She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.

 She retired from B.G. Sulzle Inc. after many years of service. She and Roger always loved and spoiled their pets with all the different dogs and cats they had over the years. In her later years when she was house bound, she enjoyed visiting with family and friends over the phone and in person. She also loved listening to WMHR 102.9 Christian Radio Station that she had on all the time.

 She was predeceased by her loving husband, Roger (2011); her brother, Donald (2020) and her parents, Violet (1996) and Bruce (2005).

 She is survived by her daughter, Amy (Dave Hahn); son, Roger II (Jennifer); grandchildren, Ethan, Emma, Ellie, Eden and several nieces, nephews and all who loved her. She will be greatly missed.

 Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals on Saturday, January 24, 2026 from 3-6pm. Funeral Services will follow at 6pm.
