Alice May (Sternberg) Pratt

Alice May (Sternberg) Pratt passed away on June 10, 2026.

Alice was born and raised in Howlett Hill NY, she was the daughter of the late Charles & Laura (Bakeman) Sternberg. Alice is predeceased by her husband Alfred Pratt, her son Charles Pratt, and her sisters, Shirley Latz, Nancy Oakes, Fanny O’hara and Sherry Hutt all of Syracuse.

Alice attended Marcellus Central School. She worked as a Pharmacy Tech at Carl’s Drug Store, then later married and became a stay at home Mother and Avon Sales Rep. She spent many years providing childcare for family, friends & neighbors.

Alice was small in stature but LARGE in her strong will! She had a love for Johnny Cash, & Elvis Presley! Her favorite color was YELLOW! She loved Twin Trees PIZZA and Pepsi! Above all she loved being with her FAMILY and nights out with her sisters. Alice enjoyed playing cards and going to concerts.

Alice is survived by her children – Mischel (John) Satunas of Pa. Jean (John) Guzelak of Fulton, Kim (John) Walsh of Marcellus, Laurie (Clark) Hanson of Tn. Karen, Holly & Dawn Pratt all of Syracuse, and her sisters Charlene Plucinik of Fl., Sharon Hiltbrand of Liverpool, and Susan Mohn of Marietta.

Alice is also survived by 17 Grandchildren, 33 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great-great-grandchild, several Nieces & Nephews and Cousins.

Our Family would like to extend our deepest appreciation TO FRANCIS HOUSE for their compassionate love and care of our mother and family during this time.

Calling hours will be Thursday, June 18, 2026 from 1-4 PM with a service at 4PM at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. Following the service, there will be a gathering in the Welcome Center in Marcellus Park, 2443 Platt Road, Marcellus, NY 13108.
