Angelo S. Vastakis

Angelo Vastakis, 91, of Cicero, NY, passed away June 25 at Francis House. Born in Evrytania, Greece, his village was Doliana. He was the son of the late Stavros and Maria Vastakis.

He was a Connecticut resident for over 55 years before moving to Cicero, NY.

He was predeceased by his parents, wife Mary (Nicholas), sister Koula Fakitsas, and brothers Geramos, Spiro, and Pantelis.

Surviving are a son, Steve (Heppi), grandchildren Maria and Evangelia, both of Cicero, NY; a brother, Aristidis Vastakis, in CT; a nephew, Steven Vastakis, and niece, Maria Vastakis, both of CT; a nephew, Mitcho Fakitsas, in NC; and a host of nieces and nephews in Greece.

The family would like to thank the friendly staff at Frances House for all their help.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., a funeral mass at 11:00 am at St. Sophia's Greek Orthodox Church in Syracuse, with burial to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. New Comer Cremations & Funerals are in charge of the arrangements.
