April M. Lopergolo, born on August 9, 1991, peacefully passed away on March 2, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth that will echo in the hearts of her family and friends. April's life was a beautiful melody, one that played softly but resonantly in every moment she shared with those she cherished.
From a young age, April possessed an extraordinary kindness, a non-judgmental spirit that drew people to her like moths to a flame. With her bubbly personality and grace, she had an uncanny ability to make everyone feel welcomed and valued. Those who crossed her path often found solace in her presence, knowing they could lean on her when times got tough. Her genuine heart was always attuned to the needs of others, often putting her own challenges aside to support those in need.
April was very fond of her family, cherishing every moment spent with them. She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Jah'la Khattab-Lopergolo, who will carry forward her mother’s vibrant spirit. Her devoted parents, Charo Lopergolo and Kevin (Karen) Batsford, along with her two beloved sisters, Brittany and Brooke Lopergolo, will forever hold her memory close. Additionally, her significant other, Motasem Khattab, and her cherished grandmother, Denella Kuss, will continue to keep April alive in their hearts, as will many aunts, uncles, and cousins, including her cousins Damian Lopergolo and Louis Hart.
Beyond her love for her family, April found joy in music, particularly the upbeat sounds of Nicki Minaj, her favorite artist. Music was a constant theme in her life, and it served as a backdrop for her many memorable moments. The gentle waves of the beach and the serene allure of being on the water also filled her heart with happiness. April had a knack for baking as well, indulging in DIY projects that showcased her creativity and zest for life.
As we remember April, we rejoice in her proudest accomplishments: always being there to uplift others during their struggles. Her legacy is one of compassion, embodying the very essence of what it means to be human, and leaving behind a treasure trove of memories cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
April will be dearly missed and forever remembered for her patience, her grace, and her unwavering support for those around her. A visitation in her honor will take place on Friday March 20, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals in Syracuse, New York. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Syracuse.
