Arlene L. Barnard

Arlene L. Barnard, 90, of Clay, passed away March 12, 2026.

Arlene was born in Saint Charles, Illinois, on November 16, 1935, to Austin and Marie Balcom.

Arlene retired after many years from Richard Champney, Attorney at Law.

She was a legal secretary. In her free time, she enjoyed birdwatching, traveling, and taking trips to the casino.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, James Barnard; father, Austin H. Balcom; mother, Marie Balcom-Barnard; daughter, Suzanne Holcomb; and son, Daniel Barnard. sisters, Evelyn Pappa and Laura Ruffos.

She is survived by her five sons, Robert Davidson, Scott Barnard, Bruce Barnard, and Gary Barnard; and four daughters, Marsha Sottung, Lori LaPine, Cynthia Banach, and Nancy Pariano.

Family and friends may call on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main Street, N. Syracuse, NY, followed by funeral services at 7:00 p.m. The interment will take place in the spring at Riverside Cemetery in Altmar, New York.
