Carolyn Romano

Carolyn Romano, a beloved resident of Syracuse, NY, passed away on May 21, 2026, after a brief illness at Crouse Hospital. Born in Syracuse on September 25, 1935, Carolyn lived a life marked by dedication, warmth, and a deep love for her family and community.

Carolyn devoted 40 years of her career to Syracuse China, where she was both employed and retired, exemplifying her strong work ethic and commitment. Beyond her professional life, Carolyn’s greatest joy was found in the company of her family, especially her grandchildren. She cherished moments spent with them and was known for her affection toward her dogs, reflecting her nurturing spirit.

She was fond of engaging her mind with word searches, a pastime that brought her much enjoyment. Carolyn also loved the light-heartedness of classic television shows such as The Golden Girls and The Andy Griffith Show. Her culinary skills were another hallmark of her character; she had a special gift for making the best Italian Christmas cookies and held a great love for Italian food in general, sharing this passion generously with family and friends.

Carolyn is survived by her devoted daughter, Sandra (Charles) Phillips; her grandchildren Melissa (Chris) Wilson, Scott (Alyssa) Phillips, Amanda (Zachary) Tiner, and Aubrey Phillips; as well as her great-grandchildren Cody Wilson and Siena Phillips. She also leaves behind her sister Pauline (Doug) Mules, along with many nieces and nephews who cherished her. Carolyn’s sons, Nicholas Romano III and Phillip Romano, and her daughter Marianne Larow preceded her in death.

Family, friends, and community members are invited to honor Carolyn’s memory at a visitation on May 29, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, located at 705 N Main St, Syracuse, NY 13212. A memorial service will follow on May 30, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location.

Carolyn Romano’s life was a testament to love, resilience, and dedication. Her memory will forever be treasured by those who knew her, as she leaves behind a legacy of kindness, warmth, and joyful moments shared with family and friends.
