Carolyn Ann Subach

Carolyn Ann Subach, passed peacefully on June 16, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Fulton, NY Carol spent her working years in her home state before retiring with her husband to Florida.

Carol was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She shared nearly 59 wonderful years of marriage with her husband, building a family and a life rooted in love, dedication, and selfless care.

She is survived by her husband Andrew; children, Michelle (Ron) Wolanski, Kenneth (Wendy) and Denice (Debbie); grandchildren, Heather (Alex) Shields, Rachel (Jesse) Ward, Nathan and Ashley; great-grandchildren, Henry, Luke, Noah, Alina, Harper, Lily, Vas and Nessa; brother, Charles Hoyt (Linda); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by her precious son, Andrew Subach Jr. “Little Andy”; her parents, Clyde and Clara; and brother, Gerald.

Carol poured her heart into the things she loved: creating beautiful quilts, sewing, crocheting and so much more. Deeply committed to helping the underserved, Carol spent her free time supporting causes for veterans, foster children, the homeless and the sick. Her giving spirit and tireless dedication to others left a lasting mark on all who knew her.

Above all, Carol's greatest joy in life was her family. She loved planning trips and events that brought everyone together - from backyard BBQ’s to family reunions. Her creativity and care touched every holiday and special occasion, as she never missed an opportunity to make or send a gift from the heart, including baking her famous Christmas cookies-dozens upon dozens made each year with love.

She was the heart of the home and the glue of her family - steadfast, nurturing, and endlessly loving. Her warmth, wisdom, humor, and strength will be missed beyond measure.

Services will be held to honor Carol's life on Tuesday, June 24 from 4-7PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals. A funeral ceremony will follow on Wednesday, June 25th at 10AM. The burial will be made at Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Carol's memory to The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
