Chad Joseph Smith

Chad Joseph Smith of North Syracuse, NY, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family after a 7 year battle with cancer on July 12, 2026 at the age of 51.

 Chad loved working on cars, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and doing anything with his grandson. He was a loving grandparent, a dedicated partner and a loyal friend. Since his late teens, Chad worked at Constas (Taylor) Printing and Eclipse.

 Chad is survived by his parents, Kim Annese and Michael (Catie) Smith; his loving and dedicated partner of 15 years, Jolene Smith; his stepdaughter, Devan Smith; grandson, Carson Elmore; brothers, Michael P. (Kristen) Smith Jr. and Corbett Smith; sisters, Cayce Smith and Melanie (David) Smith; several nieces, nephews and lifelong friends, Donnie, Todd and Andy.

 Predeceased by his maternal grandparents; Helen Doherty and William Lambert; his paternal grandparents; William and Olive Smith.

 Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals on Friday, July 17, 2026 from 4-6pm.

 A special thank you to Denise Karsten at Upstate Cancer Palliative Care, who has been a fierce advocate and calming force to Chad throughout his entire 7 year battle.
