Charlotte Jean Gardner, 70, of Syracuse, passed away June 3, 2026.
Charlotte was born in Aliceville, Alabama on March 9, 1956, to the late Abe and Mary McKinstry. She dedicated many years of her life to caring for others as a registered nurse.
Charlotte was a vibrant soul who truly lit up every room she entered. She loved dancing and was always the life of the party—her energy, laughter, and joy were contagious and left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She cherished time with her family above all else and found so much joy in making memories together, whether it was during holidays, cookouts, or just everyday moments at home. Charlotte had a gift for storytelling. Her stories-full of love, wisdom, and a little bit of mischief-could keep you laughing and listening for hours. She had a way of making everyone feel special, seen, and loved. She also had the sweetest tooth—and we mean that in every way! From her favorite desserts to her candies in her purse.
In her free time, Charlotte enjoyed music, treasured time with family, and in her younger years expressed her creativity through art.
She is survived by her daughter, Sureyia (Javyon) Williams; bonus daughter, Kendra Robinson; grandchildren, Daniyah Delee, Audrianna Williams, and Josiah Williams; siblings, Henrietta, Abe, Ray, and Jeri; along with several beloved nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
