Christine E. (Heindorf) Carroll, (52) of Syracuse, passed away on Tuesday, October 14. She was a vibrant, strong-willed soul whose laughter, compassion, and warmth touched everyone who knew her. She faced the challenges of mental illness with immense courage, even when the weight of that struggle grew heavy. To those around her, she was more than her pain — she was love, humor, creativity, and heart. She cared deeply, felt deeply, and gave so much of herself to others.
Christine was known for her lively spirit, bold heart, and unwavering faith. She was an advocate for mental health awareness, epilepsy research, and cannabis reform. Through her work with organizations such as Coalition for Access Now, she passionately championed efforts to remove CBD from the Controlled Substances Act and expand access for those in need. As an executive team leader, she met with legislators and fought tirelessly for change that could improve and even save lives.
Her energy filled every room she entered — quick to laugh, quick to love, and unafraid to speak her truth. Christine’s strength and determination inspired all who knew her, and her compassion left an undeniable mark on countless hearts.
Though her life ended far too soon, her light remains in the memories we will cherish forever; in the lessons she taught us about kindness, resilience, and acceptance; and in the love she gave so freely to family, friends, and all whose paths she crossed.
She is survived by her four children, son Paul (Michelle) Boyer, daughter Madeliene (Kevin) VanMarter, son Liam (Daniela) Carroll, daughter Abigail Carroll, parents John & Patricia Heindorf, father of her children Darin Carroll, brother Charles Heindorf, sister Amy (Joe) Rossi, her nine precious grandsons, and several nieces and nephews who adored her.
Christine was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Becky Heindorf, her nephew John Heindorf, and her father and mother-in-law, Patrick & Catherine Carroll.
