Christopher Croom

Christopher Croom, 84, of Syracuse, passed away August 28, 2025. Christopher was born in Syracuse, New York on December 30, 1940 to Charles and Elizabeth Croom. Christopher had been employed by Lucas Aeropace Power Transmission Corp. where he had worked as a machinist. He later moved to Titusville, Florida where he continued to work as a machinist.  Initially he worked for Lockheed Martin in Sunnyvale, California in the aero space industry.  

Christopher always had an interest in the space program and enjoyed watching launches. He had graduated from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor with a degree in Aerospace Engineering.  He also liked visiting the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge. In his free time, he liked helping others with his knowledge of audio visual including installing the music and video program for the Community Covenant Church and the Bible Training Center. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to others who were in need. Christopher had a deep faith in the Lord Jesus and enjoyed keeping up with well known evangelists.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Elizabeth Croom.

He is survived by his sister, Marsha (Thomas) Worth of Syracuse; several cousins, 2 nieces, Katharine Worth Larson and Deborah Telep; 2 great nieces, Rosie and Betsy Telep; 3 great nephews, Amos Telep, Lars and Soren Worth Larson; special friends Thomas Johnsen and David Johnsen of Titusville, Florida.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 7, 2025 at 10:00 am at Community Covenant Church, 107 Pleasant St., Manlius with Pastor Thomas Worth officiating.

Burial will be announced at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Community Covenant Church for Pastor Peter Olum in Kenya.
