Clara "Cookie" Kaine, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away on April 25, 2025, at her home in Altmar. Born on September 23, 1959, in Oswego, Clara was the daughter of Edward L. Johnson and Clara T. Furney, both of whom predeceased her.
Clara dedicated 25 years of her life to potato farming, a profession she embraced with passion and commitment. She was proud to be an active member of the Williamstown Church of Christ, where her strong faith guided her actions and brought her closer to her community. Clara was also an involved member of the Legion Auxiliary, demonstrating her dedication to service and support for veterans and their families.
A graduate of the Altmar-Parish-Williamstown High School Class of 1977, Clara's love for learning carried on throughout her life. She had a particular fondness for cooking, bird watching, and creating lasting memories with her grandchildren, who were a source of great joy and pride.
She was predeceased by her son, Jacob E. Lee and brother, Daniel J. Johnson.
Clara leaves behind her husband, Douglas; children Eva Medina, Rafael (Danielle) Medina; Wendy (Todd) Fuller; and Brock Kaine; as well as her siblings: Edward (Doreen) Johnson, Eva (Lee) Dobbs, James (Angel) Johnson, Carl Johnson, Terry (John) Medina, and Mary Grandjean. Clara's legacy will continue through her grandchildren, Austin (Katie) Fuller, Keaton Fuller, Dayton Fuller, Caleb, Marissa, Parker, Aleksandra, Rafael, Kalmisha, Alonna, and her great-grandchildren, Addie and Paisley.
Clara "Cookie" Kaine will be remembered for her warm spirit, and her unwavering commitment to her family. Her kindness and vivacious personality will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
There will be no services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Williamstown Church of Christ or Hospice of CNY.
