Clarence J. Knapp, Jr., 63, of DeWitt, passed away on Saturday at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. He was born on April 7, 1949 in Syracuse, son of the late Clarence, Sr. and Doris Knapp. He graduated from CNS High School and served in the US Marines from 1970-74. He retired from Crouse Hinds in 2005 after 33 years. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved his time spent with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife Jan, of 37 years, his children; John Kravec, Margaret Walts, Matthew Knapp, honorary family members; James Kravec, Timothy Reitz & Kristie Falasco, his mother, Doris, 14 grandchildren, brother, Richard Knapp, 2 sisters, Florence Kneer, Doris Cox, along with several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4-7pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse, with services to follow.
Contributions may be made to the Down Syndrome Association.
