Listen to Obituary

Daniel D. Saccocci (DANO), 64, passed away on June 18, 2026.

Daniel was born in Syracuse. He enjoyed cooking and Harley Davidson motorcycles. He loved spending time with family and friends. Dan was a Chef at Timberbanks Golf Course and also had worked as a Chef for Syracuse University.

Daniel left us far too soon, and those who knew him are left with an emptiness that can never quite be filled. Dano had a gift for bringing life, laughter, and energy wherever he went. He was always the first person to arrive at any gathering and, without fail, the last one to leave. He never simply attended an event- he transformed it. Many of us remember getting a call from Dano asking, “Hey, is it okay if I stop by with a couple of friends?” If you made the mistake of saying yes, the doorbell would ring almost immediately. Somehow, Dano and his friends were already outside. The moment he stepped through the door, the volume increased, the laughter began, and what had been an ordinary evening became a celebration.

Dano possessed a larger-than-life personality that filled every room. His booming voice, infectious enthusiasm, and endless ability to turn strangers into friends made everyone feel welcome. Whether he was announcing that the pizza was ready, proudly preparing side dishes, or orchestrating the next great gathering, he made every moment feel special. It seems impossible that Dano has done something none of us ever expected: he left the party before it was over. Yet anyone who knew him understands that he hasn't truly left. The echoes of his laugh still linger. His voice still rings in our memories. Some of us can still swear we can hear him calling from the kitchen, saying the pizza is ready or asking for whatever he was cooking next.

When someone is built to be the center of the party, their absence is impossible to ignore. Dano’s presence brought joy and friendship. And unforgettable memories to countless people. While his chair may sit empty, the stories, the laughter, and love he shared with us will continue to fill the room for years to come,

We will miss you, Dano, deeply. We will tell his stories often. We will laugh at the memories he gave us. And whenever a gathering becomes louder, a little warmer, and a little more alive, we will think of him and smile. The party won't be the same without him, but because of Dano, it will never stop.

Daniel was predeceased by his parents, Joseph A. Saccocci and Antoinette (Zinga) Saccocci; brother Joseph Saccocci.

Daniel is survived by his significant other, Lisa Darling; two sons Vincent and Braycen Saccocci; sister Bernedette Rice; step daughter Tia Darling; step granddaughter Lita Winslow; 6 nieces and nephews, 30 great nieces and nephews and 30 great great nieces and nephews.
