Daniel E. Schnipp

Daniel E. Schnipp, 88, long-time resident of Clay and recently of Liverpool, passed away October 8, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Dan was born in Syracuse, New York on January 11, 1938 to Emil and Mary Schnipp. He grew up in Syracuse, NY and had a long career teaching chemistry and earth science at Christian Brothers Academy, Syracuse, his alma mater. He volunteered at the North Area YMCA and was a member of the Branch Advisory Board. He was also a volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 117 in Cicero, NY and was Committee Chair for a number of years.

In retirement, he spent time in Florida, traveling, and enjoying Syracuse Chiefs baseball games where he was a long-time season ticket holder.

Dan was predeceased by his parents, Mary and Emil Schnipp and his brother Thomas.

Dan is survived by his wife of 56 years Beth; children Tom; Dan and his wife Melissa; and Carolyn. Dan is also survived by five grandchildren, Dylan and Andrea; Tommy and Abby; and Antonello.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be missed and remembered.

Family and friends may call on Wednesday, October 14, 2026 from 9-11 am at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. A funeral mass will follow at 12 Noon at St. John the Baptist / Holy Trinity Church, 406 Court St., Syracuse. Burial will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
