Darell Lamon Parks, 41, passed away peacefully and went home to be with the Lord Friday, September 26. 2025. He was born March 13, 1984, in Syracuse, New York.

Darell graduated from Cicero North Syracuse High School 2003. He enjoyed being with family and friends He was a member of Peoples AME Zion Church; he would often show his compassion for his church family by helping serve food to the community. He had a passion for writing and being active in the LGBTQA community. Darell was a beacon of light that was loved by all everywhere he went and will be truly missed. He will be forever remembered for that big smile from cheek to cheek and his carefree spirit,

Sr. Grandmother, Erma Holmes, Grandmother Lucy Akins, Grandfather David Akins all of Syracuse, NY; Aunt Tina Holmes.. Syracuse NY, Uncles; David Parks, Glen Holmes, Willie Gilmore: all of Syracuse: God Brother; Rashawn Turk, Syracuse, NY

He leaves to mourn his passing his Mother Sherry Akins and Step-Father Dwain Akins. Clay NY; Father Anthony Parks, Grandmother Ella Winters both of Syracuse NY; Sisters: Danyel (Moo Moo) Akins, Whitney Parks both of Syracuse NY; Nekeila Parks, Richmond, VA, Brother Davon Akins, York, PA, Aunts; Sandra Winters, Brenda Winters, Antionette Akins, Pastor Veronise Curry, Lori Holmes, Juanita Holmes, Debbie Madera and Carmelita Holmes all of Syracuse, NY; Uncles; John Winters. Jr. (Cynthia), Terry Winters both of Decatur, GA; Rodney Akins (Alice) of Coatesville, PA, Dion Holmes, Syracuse. NY; God Mother Paulette Thompson, God Sisters; Antionette Knighton and Shelah Rowser, all of Syracuse NY, Cousins: Lasonya Stephen, Tayana Tatum, Mckenzie Tatum, Krystal Thompson., Andre Washington, Brilla Washington, Jackie Akins, Vince Bellamy all of Syracuse NY; Omarlla Roulhac (Cordell) and Addison Roulhac, all of Buffalo. NY. Loving Aunt Josette Barkins of Syracuse, Special Friend, Kareem Imperial Everett, Queens NY and a host of other loving Aunts. Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, October 21, 2025 from 11AM to 12 PM at Peoples AME Zion Church, 2306 S. Salina St., Syracuse. A Funeral Service will follow at 12 PM.
