David B. Mawhinney

David B. Mawhinney, 81, of North Syracuse, passed away on Monday December 29, 2025, at Crouse Hospital surrounded by his loving family. David was born in Syracuse on April 2, 1944 son of the late Bryce and Mary Jane Mawhinney. David was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the US Army. In his earlier years he volunteered at the Can Teen in Cicero. David always enjoyed a good joke and will always be remembered for saying, "Never clutter your mind with useless things."

David retired from New Process Gear after many years of employment. David was predeceased by his cat, Riley.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret Mawhinney, daughter Beth Mawhinney, twin daughters, Amy Mawhinney & Laura Mawhinney, grandson, Nicholas Mirarcki, and his brother, Peter (Victoria) Mawhinney.

Services will be private.
