With hearts heavy with sorrow, the family of Dawn Disinger announces her passing on December 13, 2025, at the age of 79.
Dawn grew up in Liverpool, the only child of Kenneth and Gladys Barnes, and attended Liverpool schools. She was devoted to her children and worked tirelessly at multiple jobs to support them. She was employed at R.E. Deitz for ten years prior to joining Cardinal Health Systems, where she worked for over twenty-five years. In retirement she doted on her family. As an unrepentant worrier, she always put the needs of others before her own.
When she and Dave were married, she was thrilled to finally have sisters for the first time. Among her fondest memories were the annual weekend trips to the Jersey shore with them and her late mother-in-law Jean Disinger, where she met the Disinger cousins, several of whom became her life-long friends.
Dawn is survived by her husband and soulmate of over thirty years, Dave, her daughter Lisa Ditch (Art Cole), son Rolland (Ron) Beard II and wife Amy, son William Carr, stepdaughters Diane Skapura (Lance) and Debbi Armstrong (Harry), sisters-in-law Sue Vanderveer (Don), Barb Stowe (Dave), Evelyn Disinger and Barbara Disinger, brother-in-law John Galey, plus many nieces and nephews, as well as fourteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, all of whom will miss her dearly.
Dawn was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved cousin Pat (Charles) Brown, and her late husband George LaDue. She never forgot the kindness shown her by the LaDue family after his passing.
Calling hours will be on Friday December 19 from 4 to 7 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N Main St, North Syracuse, NY. A memorial service will be held immediately following the calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, Dawn wished her family and friends to support any organization that gives aid and comfort to the less fortunate among us, especially St. Judes Children’s Hospital and the Make-A-Wish Foundation, her two favorite charities.
