Dean A. McCarthy

Dean A. McCarthy, 64, of Syracuse, passed away September 20, 2025. Dean was born in Syracuse, New York on December 17, 1960 to Leo and Mary McCarthy. Dean was the owner of The Other Side Lawn Care in Syracuse. Dean enjoyed working and family was his life. He treasured the time he spent with family especially the love of his life, Annie; his children, grandchildren and siblings.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leo McCarthy; mother, Mary H. McCarthy; and his brother, Daniel McCarthy.

He is survived by his spouse of 38 years, Anne-Marie McCarthy; two sons, Gary M. McCarthy of Bridgeport, Brett C. McCarthy of Mattydale; daughter, Deanne K. (Justin) Lefebvre of Cicero; two brothers, Timothy (Marsha) McCarthy of Lyncourt, Gary McCarthy of East Syracuse; five sisters, Cindy McCarthy of E. Syracuse, Kristina (Jeff) McWain of Fulton, Shannon (Tim) Allison of Evansville, Indiana, Michelle (Michael) Maret of E. Syracuse, Bridget (Daniel Warner) McCarthy of E. Syracuse; seven grandchildren, Brittany Zimmer, Destiny Zimmer, Gary M. McCarthy Jr., Michael McCarthy, Brett McCarthy Jr., Bennett Lefebvre, and Dalton Lefebvre; 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
