Denise Margaret DeLucas, 80, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2026. Born on March 12, 1946, in Syracuse, New York, Denise was the beloved daughter of Edward and Claire McGrath.
Denise was a hardworking and dedicated woman throughout her life. She began her career at Mario’s Grocery Store, later becoming the proud owner of Dee’s Market. She also worked for the New York State Thruway before continuing her career with Medical Management Resources, where she remained until her retirement.
Denise was known for her warm heart, sharp wit, and deep love for her family. She found her greatest joy in cheering on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren at their sporting events. She loved horse racing and golf, and she had a playful personality—famously known as an “ear hustler,” always tuned in to everything going on around her. To those who loved her most, she will forever be remembered as “Nana.”

She is lovingly survived by her son, Peter (Beverly) Vazquez; her stepson, Louis DeLucas; her daughters, Lisa (Michael) Weakley and Maria Mirarcki; and her stepdaughter, Stephanie. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Amber (Michael) Tisdell, Michael Jr. (Kenzie) Weakley, Peter Jr., Connor, Brytni, Kortni, and Ava. Denise was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Vivian, Casella, and Montgomery, who brought her immense joy.
