Donald R. Overend, Sr.

Donald “Don” Overend, Sr., 71, of Cicero, NY passed away Thursday, October 16th with his loving family by his side.

He was born September 17, 1954 in Syracuse, NY and graduated from Henninger High School. Donald enlisted in the Army following graduation, and served three years. After serving, he returned to the Syracuse area.

In 1978 he landed his dream job at New Process Gear, where he retired in 2010 after 30 years of service. Shortly after retiring, Don started working for WalMart in the Maintenance Department, where he worked for 15 years.

In 1979, Don married his best friend and one constant in his life, Darlene Reome. They went on to build a beautiful life together. His 2 children and 6 grandchildren were considered his greatest accomplishments.

Don was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Ruth Overend; a special nephew, Joshua Overend; his in-laws, Earl and Simone Reome; 3 brothers-in-law, Darrel, Gerald and Earle Reome and a sister-in-law, Linda Fisher.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 46 years, Darlene; his son, Donald (Jamie) Overend; his daughter, Tisa (Paul) Kasarda; his grandchildren, Zachary (Samantha) Greco, Colby (Sydney) Greco, Olivia Greco, Leah Overend, Collin Overend, and a step grandson, Ryan Kasarda; brother-in-law, Edward (Johnine) Reome, many loving cousins and his WalMart family.

As per his wishes, there will be no services.
