Dora E. Kranze

Dora E. Kranze, 82, of Oswego, passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at St. Luke’s Nursing Home in Oswego, surrounded by her loving family. Dora was born in Ithaca, NY on February 25, 1943, daughter of the late Walter and Louise (Messenger) McComb.

Dora was a devoted homemaker who found joy in caring for children, lovingly babysitting for many families over the years. She enjoyed camping in the Adirondacks, and loved flowers and gardening and enjoyed feeding wild birds. She was also a devoted pet parent to several dogs and cats over the years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin E. Kranze; her parents; two sisters; Carol McComb and Jean Moore; four brothers, Edward McComb, Robert McComb, John McComb, and Jim McComb; her step-daughter, Sandra Sherman; and a granddaughter, Emily Kranze.

She is survived by her daughter, Farrah Kranze (David Finch); son, Scott Kranze (Michelle Fields); step-daughter,  Shelly (Jeff) Pellerin; step-son Richard Kranze; grandson, Andrew Beauvais; niece, Tracy Randall and her brother, Richard McComb.

Private family services will be held in the spring.
