Dorothy (Case) Ambriati, a cherished soul known for her kindness, dedication, and boundless generosity, peacefully passed away on May 15, 2026, at Francis House with her beloved family by her side. Born on January 11, 1947, in Syracuse, Dorothy’s journey was one marked by love, hard work, and a spirit that touched every life she encountered.

A proud graduate of West Genesee High School in 1964, Dorothy carried the values instilled during her youth throughout her entire life. Her commitment to her work was evident in her many years spent at National Grange Insurance, where she was not only respected for her professional dedication but also admired for her warm and generous nature.

Dorothy’s heart was always open to those she loved. Described as very kind and loving, she was the pillar of strength and generosity to family and friends alike. Her relationships were treasured; she shared a deep bond with her domestic partner, George Easton, whose unwavering support and love were a testament to their profound connection.

She is lovingly survived by her son, Thomas Ambriati, who carries forward her legacy of compassion and resilience. Dorothy’s extended family, her aunt, Josephine (Dody) Latimer, many cousins including; Patricia (Jerrold) Pashley, Judith (Bud) Brinkerhoff, and Erika DeForest, were blessed by her presence and continue to hold her memory close. Her lifelong friendship with Sharon (Jack) Roth and their four daughters brought joy and warmth to her life, a testament to the enduring power of true friendship.

Throughout her life, Dorothy exemplified what it means to be truly kind and hardworking. She gave generously — not only of her time and effort but of her heart. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the love she sowed, a lasting tribute to a remarkable woman who made the world a better place simply by being in it.
