Edward G. Hamilton, 82, of North Syracuse, passed away on March 23, 2025.
Edward was born in Syracuse, New York, on June 29, 1942, to Guy Hamilton and Mary Thorn.
Ed retired from Miller Brewing after 18 years.
In his free time, he loved caring for his family and home and spending time with his wife, Mary, and his dog Buddy. Ed also really enjoyed watching old black-and-white movies from the 1940's and 1950's.
Ed always wanted to lighten the mood and make people laugh with a good joke in any situation. Ed especially enjoyed spending his time with his sons.
Ed was very proud of his service in the United States Marine Corps. On March 8, 1965, 3,500 U.S. Marines landed near Da Nang, South Vietnam, marking the beginning of the American ground war in Vietnam. Edward G. Hamilton, USMC 1st Battalion, 3rd Division, was one of those 3,500 men.
He was preceded in death by his father, Guy Hamilton; mother, Mary Thorn; sister, Diane Shuler; daughter-in-law, Kelly Hamilton; and three half-sisters, Joann, Maryann and Judy.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Hamilton, two sons, John and Brian Hamilton, niece, DeAnne Shuler, nephew, Edward Shuler, half-brother, Robert Thorn, along with several nieces and nephews.
