Edward’s life was deeply rooted in family values, with his wife of 56 years, Cheryl L. Schilling, standing steadfast by his side through all the seasons of their lives together. Their enduring love was a beacon for their daughter, Melissa DeCandia, and beloved granddaughter, Savanna, who remained Edward’s proudest accomplishment and greatest joy. He is survived by his siblings—Kathy Borland, Steve Schilling, Bert (Jackie) Schilling, Laura (Vic) Parker—and many nieces and nephews, Edward's legacy of kindness and humor echoes through generations. He was predeceased by his parents, Howard and Bernadine, as well as his sister, Sue LeBeau, leaving behind a family who carries forward his spirit and memories.

Edward’s commitment and work ethic were exemplified through his impressive 30-year career at Chrysler Corporation, a testament to his steadfast dedication and integrity. Before his professional accomplishments, Edward served honorably in the U.S. Army during Vietnam, an experience that shaped his character and instilled in him a profound sense of duty.

Known for his low-key sarcasm and quick wit, Edward had a unique way of brightening any room, always surrounded by the joy of music and dance. As an avid Yankee fan, his enthusiasm for the game was infectious, inspiring lively conversations and shared moments with family and friends alike. In his earlier years, Edward’s talents shone brightly in softball and bowling, earning him numerous accomplishments that highlighted his competitive spirit and zest for life. He was also passionate about collecting sports memorabilia, cherishing the stories and history intertwined with each piece.
