Elaine M. Mekkelson, 63, a 13 year lung cancer survivor of North Syracuse, New York died Tuesday, May 22, 2012.
A strong and independent woman, she enjoyed spending time with her family and her trips to the "Stone".
She was predeceased by her husband James M. Mekkelson in 2000 and a brother, Kenneth Vincent.
Surviving are a daughter, Kelly (Ray) Lescenski; sons, Aaron (Laura Cordes) Mekkelson and Brett (Eva) Abrams; her mother, June Vincent; a brother, Dean Vincent; a sister, Lynn Parton; ten grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be from 11 AM- 1 PM on Friday, May 25, 2012 with services to follow at 1 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 North Main Street, North Syracuse, New York. Burial will be in North Syracuse Cemetery, New York.
