Elaine M. McKeen

Elaine M. Mckeen, 77, of Liverpool, passed away on September 22, 2026 at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

She was born on May 26, 1949 to James and Frances (Ketcham) Conroy in Oswego, NY.

Elaine was a dedicated member of Living Word Church for 48 years, laboring joyfully in so many ministries, including; the Church newspaper publication, wedding services, the children's nursery, and food services, such as Sunday morning breakfast and the food pantry outreach.

Elaine gave her heart and soul to her church community. From the least to the greatest, anyone who was served by her received her full effort, dedication, and commitment to excellence. In addition to her family, It is her greatest legacy and a testament to her servant’s heart for Christ and his body.

She was also an industrious worker outside of the church community. After retiring from a full career at National Grid, she became a Real Estate Agent for John Arquette Realty, pursuing her other passions; building relationships, interior design and home improvement

Elaine is survived by her loving husband, Alan, daughter, Tracy Lapsley (Paul),

and sister, Vicki Nelson. As well as grandchildren, Eden Majewski (Daniel), Emily Bayne (Michael), and Chloe Virag (Isaac), and many nephews, nieces and great grandchildren.

Alan and Elaine were married on April 2, 1981. All of those who will remember her, will immediately be transported to a spring day by her garden, the scent of hydrangeas ever-present and accompanied by the sound of pollinating bees, as she uprooted the weeds attempting to threaten her flowerbeds from the dark earth. Those who were fortunate enough to travel with her will likely be quickly recalled to a temperate September afternoon strolling by the river Seine or watching from the vast lawn as the Eiffel Tower glittered overhead. Her travels to Paris, France and beyond were a dream come true that she would revisit with anyone who showed interest.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Conroy, mother, Frances Conroy and brother, Rick Conroy. Elaine was a true eldest daughter in every sense of the word. Those who knew her in her early years will always remember her as bold, tenacious and caring.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at 10:00am, at Living Word Church, 6099 Court Street Road, Syracuse, NY 13206.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 29 at 12:00pm, also at Living Word Church, following visitation with Pastor Bryan Rocine officiating.

Graveside service will be held privately at Riverside Cemetery.
