Elizabeth Ann (Reddy) Stearns, 89, of North Syracuse passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. Born in Syracuse to William and Margaret (Gilcher) Reddy, Betsy graduated from The Convent School. She was employed for many years with Bristol-Myers Squibb in Syracuse and Evansville, IN before retiring and returning to Central NY.
Surviving are daughters, Margaret (Peg) Stearns of Syracuse, Maureen Grunder of Sebring, FL and son, Robert Stearns of N. Syracuse; brother William A. (Christine) Reddy, grandchildren Erica (Mitch Woodlief) Grunder, Erech (Jessica) Grunder, Les VanFleet, Sean (Chrys) Stearns, Stephanie Stearns and Sabrina (Sam) Setticase, as well as five great-grandchildren and many much-loved cousins, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her son, Glenn V. Stearns and siblings Mary Hand, Michael Reddy and Judith Priddy. She was a devoted Catholic, active with the Legion of Mary apostolic organization.
Calling hours will be Thursday, March 26, 2026, 4-6 p.m. at NewComer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St. North Syracuse, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday March 27, 2026 at St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, 407 S. Main St. North Syracuse followed by burial in N. Syracuse cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions suggested to St. Rose’s food pantry or your favorite charity.
