Elizabeth A Torak

Elizabeth Anne Torak, 76, of Mattydale, passed away on October 21, 2026, in Syracuse, New York.

Elizabeth was born in Syracuse, New York, to William and Sophie Torak on September 29, 1950. She attended school in Jamesville and went on to build a career in nursing, serving as a Registered Nurse at Crouse Hospital for most of her professional life. Throughout her career, she dedicated herself to caring for others.

Elizabeth was a strong-willed and determined woman who faced life in her own way. She had a love for reading and traveling and especially enjoyed spending time with her friends. Above all, her family was an important part of her life, and she cherished her only grandchild, Grace, who held a special place in her heart.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, William and Sophie Torak, as well as several aunts and uncles.

She is survived by her son, Zachary W. Torak, and his partner, Courtney E. Shevenell, of Jamesville; her brothers, Stanley F. Torak of Cicero and William Torak of Rotterdam; and her beloved granddaughter, Grace M. Torak.

Calling hours will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main Street, North Syracuse. Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 30, 2026, at St. Mary's Cemetery in DeWitt.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
