Ernesto Ortiz Sr.

Ernesto Ortiz Sr., 80 of Syracuse, NY, passed away on Monday, October 12, 2026. He was born in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico on April 15, 1946 to the late Pablo and Carmen Ortiz.

 When he was young growing up in Puerto Rico, he enjoyed nature, playing sports, especially watching the Yankees. He also had a strong relationship with God, family and friends.

 He is survived by his former wife, Ada Ortiz; children, Ernesto Ortiz Jr., Andro Ortiz Sr. and Edward (Margarita) Ortiz; grandchildren, Veronica, Simon, Emilio, Andro Jr., Giovanni and David; great-grandchildren, Lillyanna, Mikey Jr., Nylechka and Samantha; siblings, Edith Ortiz, Rafelito Ortiz and niece Griselda, along with several other beloved nieces and nephews.

 Predeceased by his precious daughter, Clarissa Ortiz; siblings, Pablo Ortiz Jr., Lucy and Felix Ortiz.

 Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 from 2-5pm. Funeral Services will follow at 5pm.
