He was born in Howell, MI on December 4, 1938. Eugene’s life was marked by unwavering dedication to his craft, his loved ones, and his community.

A skilled carpenter by trade, Eugene took immense pride in making and fixing things throughout his life. His remarkable craftsmanship was evident in the houses he built and the intricately designed birdhouses he created, reflecting his deep passion for woodworking. Eugene’s ability to bring materials to life with his hands was a testament to his creativity and commitment to excellence.

Eugene proudly served as a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a chapter of his life that contributed to his strong sense of discipline and service. Following his military career, he transitioned to life as a carpenter, where he found fulfillment in building structures that would provide shelter and warmth to many.

During his free time, Eugene enjoyed playing pool and found joy in the game of golf during his younger years. He appreciated country music, often finding solace and happiness through its melodies. A beloved joke teller, his wit and humor endeared him to all who knew him.

Eugene's most cherished role was that of a husband and father. He was a loving husband to Ruth E. Wolcott for 42 wonderful years. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter. He was a devoted father to his children: Debbie Rosato, Kathleen (Jim) Caparelli, Patricia Reith, and Ted (Lynn) Reith.
