Evelyn D. Serrano

Evelyn D. Serrano, 79, of Clay, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at St. Joseph’s Health Hospital. Born in Manila, Philippines on December 28, 1946 to the late Mariano and Lily Dawis. She attended and graduated from the University of Santo Tomas with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology. She retired from CNY Internists in East Syracuse, NY as a laboratory manager after 36+ years. Evelyn was a very kind and compassionate human being. She always helped people and causes in need. Evelyn was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, in Cicero.

She is predeceased by two brothers, Rolando C. (Lerio) Dawis, Romeo C. (Frances) Dawis, and a sister Edith D. (Leonidas) Yannopoulos. She is survived by her husband Emmanuel C. Serrano of Clay, NY, two brothers, Rodrigo C. (Imelda) Dawis from Chicago, IL, Raul C. (Virginia Luces) Dawis from Wesley Chapel, FL, and a sister Emma D. (Manuel Jr.) Medina from Paranaque, Philippines, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call on Thursday, January 29, 2026 from 4-7pm at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse, NY 13212. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 30, 2026 9:30am at Sacred Heart Church, 8229 Brewerton Rd., Cicero, NY 13039.

Burial will follow after mass at St. Mary’s Cemetery and Mausoleum, 4100 East Genesee St., Syracuse, NY 13214.
