Evelyn F. Thomas

Evelyn F. Thomas, 93, of Syracuse, passed away July 3, 2025. Evelyn was born in Montreal, Canada on November 10, 1931 to Francis and Winifred Jordan.

Evelyn work in the insurance business as a supervisor for many years, then became an x-ray technician later in life and retired from Tampa General. While in Florida she met her true love, Bobby Thomas, a Major in the Air Force. In her free time, she enjoyed arts and crafts, ceramics, loved to go on cruises, and was a member of the Red Hats Society, and enjoyed socializing with friends and family. Evelyn was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by husband, Major Bobby Thomas; parents, Francis and Winifred Jordan; sister, Audrey Fawcett.

She is survived by her son, Bryan (Margaret) Rae; daughter, Brenda (John) Adams; step-son, Larry (Jane) Thomas; five grandchildren, Trina (Dan) McElwain, Kelly Adams, Marlene (Matt) Giacobbi, Michael Rae, Monica Rae; seven great-grandchildren, Jack, Jason, Jordan, Mariyah, Jianna, Isabella, Ryan, and a great-great grandchild on the way, Marietta Rosalyn; sisters, Rita Davis, and Diane Suwala; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Family and friends may attend calling hours on Saturday, August 2, 2025 from 12pm – 1pm with a funeral service at 1:00pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 North Main Street, North Syracuse, NY.

Interment at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
