Floyd W. Brooks Jr., of New Port Richey, Florida, passed away at home on April 8, 2026. He was born on August 14, 1936 in Rome, New York to Floyd and Clara Brooks.

 Following his graduation from high school, Floyd proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for over 20 years. During his service, he was stationed in various locations across the United States and overseas, with his devoted wife, Helen Marie by his side throughout his military career. After returning to the United States in the early 1970’s, Floyd worked several jobs and spent time investing before eventually retiring.

 Floyd enjoyed camping with Helen and their family, playing horseshoes, fishing and spending time playing poker. He and Helen spent many of their retirement years in Florida, where they especially enjoyed the winter months.

 He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Helen Marie in 2010; his siblings, Rena, Linda, Johnny, Joan and Joe; his grandchildren, Amber Brooks and Justin Brooks; and his great-grandson, Austin Peters.

 Floyd is survived by his children, Susan (John) Olesh, Raymond (Kelly) Brooks, Ronald Brooks and David (Michelle) Brooks; eight grandchildren, Jessica Olesh, Jamie Olesh, Chelsey (Justin) Grasso, Derrick Brooks, Drew (Taylor) Brooks, Randi (Jake) Colvin, Ryan Brooks and Rachel (Dakota) Potter; nine great-grandchildren, Azalea, Henry, Samuel, Jacob, Riley, Jace, Ryan Brooks and Grace. Also, many nieces and nephews.

 A private family service will be held at North Syracuse Cemetery, North Syracuse, New York, where Floyd will be laid to rest beside his loving wife of 54 years.
