Frances L. Burkard

Frances L. Burkard, 73, of Clay, New York, passed away August 18, 2026 with her husband and son at her side. She was born on September 27, 1952 in Syracuse, NY.  Frances retired from Syracuse China after being employed there for 33 years.  After retiring, she worked at Walmart in Cicero. 

Frances was an avid Syracuse University basketball fan, enjoyed camping, loved to play bingo and was a NASCAR fan. She loved spending time with family and friends especially her grandchildren. She especially enjoyed her family Christmas eve party.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Barbara and Francis Root and her brother Scotty.

Surviving family includes her husband of 52 years, Thomas B. Burkard; son, TJ (Donia) Burkard; sister, Mary Eggleston, brother, Michael Root, brother, Kevin Root, sister, Marquerite Root, brother, Gregg Root, brother, Terry Root; three grandchildren, Mikey (Erika) Brown and Samantha (Hunter) Duvall, Johnathan Zilles; two great grandchildren, Jayden and Eli Brown; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Monday, August 24, 2026 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. A Graveside service will be held Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at 11am at White Chapel Cemetery, 6633 Kinne Rd., Dewitt.
