Frank Ponto

Frank Ponto, 89, of Mattydale, passed away on January 5, 2026. Frank was born in Syracuse, New York on October 18, 1936 to the late Frank and Rose Ponto. Frank retired from Esselte Inc. He was a post-WWII veteran and long standing member of the American Legion. Frank was compassionate to all and always available to lend a helping hand when called upon. He had numerous hobbies and interests, but had a particular knack for his unique birdhouses. Frank was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.

He is survived by his wife, Joanna Ponto; daughter, Lori (Robert) Rupp; grandchildren, Caroline (Morgan) Miller, Julia Rupp; step-children Eugene (Elise) Pritchard, David Pritchard, Larry Stagliano, Cynthia (David) Dessingue.

A memorial mass will take place Saturday, January 17th, 10AM at St Margaret’s Church in Mattydale. Please be seated by 9:45am.
