Frederick E. Myers, 80, of Solvay, New York, passed away surrounded by the love of his family.
Born and raised in Solvay, Fred graduated from Solvay High School before proudly serving his country in the United States Army. A proud Vietnam War veteran, he served for 22 years and continued his commitment to his country in the Army Reserve until his retirement in 2005. Throughout his life, he exemplified dedication, service, and patriotism.
In addition to his military service, Fred worked at Judy Auto for more than 25 years. He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life—fishing, camping, and spending time on the golf course with his brother, Allen. He will be remembered for his quick wit, sense of humor, and the love he had for his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Matilda and Matthew Myers; his brothers, Bert and Allen; and his sisters, Linda and Edna.
Fred is survived by his sister, Ellen (Ken); his children, Angie, Becky, Shannon, Michelle, Billy, and Jeremy; his bonus daughter, Winnie; many beloved nieces and nephews; and his nine cherished grandchildren.
Anyone who knew Fred knew he had a wonderful sense of humor. In true Fred fashion, he would want us to mention that he also leaves behind “his many wives”—one final joke that would surely bring a smile to those who knew and loved him.
