George Vakula, 89, of North Syracuse, passed away on Saturday. He was born on February 13, 1925 in New Haven, NY. George served in the US Navy during WW II, he enjoyed billiards and gardening. He worked at GE for 34 years retiring in 1986.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Doris of 57 years, 2 sons: Mark & Aaron Vakula, along with 3 grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 5-7pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse. Services will be held on Friday 10am at the funeral home.
